JPI Hujra at Islamabad
God helps those who help themselves
Rashid Bacha, a social worker by birth, working for JPI since its inception, voluntarily. Lack of resources and funding is always an obstacle to metalize the ideas planned. JPI is working on gross root level updating traditional indigenous insinuation for the benefit of community by inclusion of modern scientific idea by the way culture adaptation. Rashid Bacha established Hujra at Margala Town Phase -2 Near Community Park and offered it free of cost to JPI to use of its office.
The area was under criminals before and was a place for multi criminal activities. Professor Lisa Schirch Eastern Mennonite University VA USA very recently visited the mentioned Hujra and appreciated the traditional way of peace building efforts at the Hujra.
Another initiative taken By JPI Volunteers is establishment of Schwinger Children School at football ground, F/8 Markaz, Islamabad for the children of Afghanistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhawa living in slums around Islamabad, collect rubbish, then sells it, roaming the whole day in the streets of Islamabad. There are 6 girls-12 boys, aged 8 to 16 and exposed to all exploitations.
A trained female teacher teaches basic education with focus on Health, Hygiene, Peace and Tolerance, Behavior change and Entertainment. Beside Academic activities, health and hygiene kit are provided free of cost. Football ground at F/8 Markaz Islamabad has also been provided for Reaction. The school is in operational for the last 8 months.
